If RomPop ever needed its own “Blue Monday”, this has to be “Ani de liceu,” carried by the unmistakable voice of Stela Enache alongside Florin Bogardo. This May 1st, she joins the Discotecă collective at Control for a Made in RO session of 80s funk, italo and eurodisco. The songs that once moved teenage hearts now return with deeper resonance.

DISCOTECĂ DJs COOP

Founded in 2012, Discotecă is a pop archaeology collective dedicated to resurfacing Romanian recordings from the 60s through the 90s. Their work reconnects today’s dancefloors with a layered musical past, recontextualising RomPop through DJ sets, Electrecord archival releases and collaborations with original artists, tracing how these sounds once lived and breathed in public.
